About Us
A: One of the most comprehensive senior living options available, Life Plan Communities (formerly known as Continuing Care Retirement Communities) meet the social, physical and financial needs of residents by providing facilities to accommodate every stage of life. This full continuum of care includes independent residential senior living, emergency medical assistance, assisted living, memory care, namaste, adult day services, skilled nursing care and long-term care all on one campus. Services such as dining, housekeeping, scheduled transportation, home maintenance, and security, as well as recreational and social activities are also typically provided by Life Plan Communities.

A: A life care contract monthly service fee remains the same regardless of your level of care, whether you are in Independent Living or Assisted Living. In Life Care Communities, the cost of future healthcare, whether needed or not, is embedded in the fee structure
Williamsburg Landing is a fee-for-service Life Plan Community. Residents pay a discounted rate for higher levels of care if and when these services are needed.
A: Williamsburg Landing, Inc., a single-site, not-for-profit corporation under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code. The community is governed by an 21-member volunteer Board of Directors, comprised of distinguished local citizens and two residents who have full voting rights. The President/CEO and the senior leadership team are responsible for day-to-day management of the community.
A: Williamsburg Landing is a 153-acre gated campus nestled in the beautiful Tidewater countryside in Williamsburg, VA.. It consists of 321 independent living homes and apartments, 73 assisted living apartments, 12 Namaste units, 24 special care dementia units, 44 licensed skilled care beds and our Adult Day Center. A: Williamsburg Landing is not affiliated with any particular religion. Individuals of all faiths are welcome to our community.
A: The goal of Williamsburg Landing is to promote an environment that emphasizes physical, social, intellectual and spiritual potentials. Our community includes a state-of-the-art, 25,000 sq. ft. Health Club and Spa, specifically designed and staffed for older adults.
A: Williamsburg Landing is located approximately one and a half miles from the city center, Colonial Williamsburg’s Historic Area and the College of William & Mary. It’s conveniently located to Rt. 199, I-64 and numerous shopping opportunities. See what the Greater Williamsburg area offers.
Lifestyle
A: The monthly service fee in independent living includes one meal per resident, per day. Meals may be taken anytime during the month, at breakfast, lunch or dinner. The cost of any meals over the plan will be added to your monthly bill. As options, a declining balance meal plan, a 20-meal per month plan, or plans that provide two or three meals per resident per day are also available. Discover delicious dining.
A: Williamsburg Landing has security personnel on duty 24-hours a day, seven days a week. The security staff also patrols the campus. Doors into all apartment buildings are secured after 9:00 p.m. and residents have keys or scanners for access. All residences are equipped with a 24-hour emergency call system called PalCare. Fire protection is provided throughout with smoke detector alarms and sprinkler systems. They are monitored by Security and nursing staff. Williamsburg Landing is located just minutes from fire, EMT and hospital services.
A: Yes, you bring your small dog, cat, bird or fish. It is the resident’s responsibility to provide adequate care and to ensure that the pets do not infringe on the privacy or safety of other residents.
A: Residents are permitted to move to different locations and to larger or smaller residences by placing their names on a Move Request List maintained by the Marketing Department. Transfers are possible for a modest charge, and in some cases, additional entrance fee payments or refunds may apply. Contact the Marketing Office for more information.
A: Yes! We have an onsite team of IT professionals to assist you. Computers are also available for resident use in the common areas and library. Technology classes are also offered to assist residents with various tech needs.
A: Yes, the spiritual well-being and enrichment of each resident, while an individual choice, are vitally important at Williamsburg Landing. We have an active Chaplaincy Program. Our Chaplains and volunteers are a source of leadership and inspiration as they hold services, provide counseling and lead Bible study groups.
A: Your guests are welcome to visit you at any time, including overnight and are welcome to dine with you. A limited number of guest rooms is available for visiting friends and relatives at a reasonable cost. Reservations for guest rooms are recommended as far in advance as possible. We also have discounted rates at select local hotels for out of town guests.
A: All residents furnish and decorate their homes to suit their personal tastes. Prior to move-in, residents meet with our Relocation Coordinator to discuss their design options and preferences.
A: Yes, residents licensed to drive by the state of Virginia are encouraged to bring their automobiles.
All residential units provide either street or garage parking. For units without garages, a limited number of private garages is available for rent.
A: We are a smoke-free campus. Smoking is not permitted in the common areas or guest rooms. Although discouraged, smoking is only permitted in residences.
A: Our CARF Accreditation recommends that all Life Plan Communities possess a firearm policy to ensure the safety and well-being of their residents, employees and visitors. Williamsburg Landing's policy permits Independent Living residents to possess firearms and requires them to notify the Security Manager, via a written form, who will maintain a list for the community. Firearms are prohibited by state and federal regulations in regulated areas of Williamsburg Landing, which include Assisted Living, Health and rehab, Memory Support, Namaste, and Adult Day.
Healthcare
A: While long-term care insurance is not required, it is considered an asset in your financial qualifications for admission. Williamsburg Landing accepts payments from long-term care insurance in lieu of private payments.
A: Williamsburg Landing’s nursing staff is available 24-hours a day and may be reached via the emergency call system. First aid may be administered on site and two hospitals (Sentara Regional Medical Center and Riverside Doctor’s Hospital) are conveniently located minutes away should more extensive treatment be necessary.
A: In addition to offering Independent living residences, Williamsburg Landing also offers assisted living, memory support, skilled care and long-term care. Fees are based on the level of care.
Becoming a Resident
A: We welcome all individuals regardless of race, religion, sex, nationality, place of origin, or non-disqualifying disability. Independent Living residents must be 62 years of age or older and meet financial and medical qualifications. Criteria for admission to our higher levels of care can be discussed in detail with our Admissions Coordinators.
