Williamsburg Landing is proud to be the first retirement community in Virginia to receive an Arboretum Accreditation. We are Level 1 Accredited by The ArbNet Arboretum Accreditation Program and The Morton Arboretum.

How the Arboretum Began

Susanne Clark and her husband moved to Williamsburg Landing in 2019 and our beautifully landscaped neighborhood was a big reason why. It wasn’t long after her arrival that Susanne went to the CEO and Manager of Grounds to suggest creating an arboretum within the community. The idea was enthusiastically received. She used her previous experiences to spearhead the project with the Resident Landscaping Committee and staff joining her efforts. 

Not only has Williamsburg Landing received a Level 1 accreditation by The ArbNet Arboretum Accreditation Program and The Morton Arboretum, but it is also a certified wildlife habitat (certified by the National Wildlife Federation) and is in the Chesapeake Bay Resource Protection Area (RPA). Williamsburg Landing's grounds are a tranquil environment for residents and nature to exist in harmony.
